Hi All

I have just got hold of some rolls of felt for the shed .

The shed is 16ft long, and I havea number of off cuts which are about 8ft/12ft etc.

All the guides that I have seen, say to use a whole piece of felt across the length of the roof.

Is it acceptable to use say two pieces over the length of the shed, overlapping ? Or should I just go and buy some more roles .

The shed is about 10 years old, and due for replacement, so dont want to spend too much more on it, if that helps.

Not really great but if you overlap by as much as you can and maybe some paint on sealer like bitumen to seal the horizontal laps it could work.

What you're trying to avoid is driving rain being swept under.

Felt's not that expensive

I done similar on our old shed, i left at least 10cm (4 inch) overlap and i also used a water proof silicone sealer in the join to make a decent seal.
Never had a problem for the 3 years i had it before i dumped it for a newer and bigger model.
