The latest Statham film where he plays the same character under a new name but they usually are good fun to watch.

On a remote coastal island, a reclusive man rescues a young girl from a deadly storm, drawing them both into danger. Forced out of isolation, he must confront his turbulent past while protecting her, sending them on a tense journey of survival and redemption.

Starring Jason Statham, Bodhi Rae Breathnach, Naomi Ackie and Bill Nighy, SHELTER is in UK and Ireland cinemas January 30.

Ah ffs, here was me thinking it would be about a batle between an impoverished tenant and greedy landlord over some mould in the corner of a bedroom.

Starts on Friday. I hope it's one of his better ones.

I thought "The Beekeeper" was great, but "A Working Man" was not.

I enjoyed this a bit, couple of daft moments (giving the gun to the girl, "I can save you" plus you only need to see Statham cane a bottle of cheap vodka once to highlight his isolation/loneliness), Nighy really hams it up. Couple of nice fight scenes later on including a shoot out in a club, where the punters actually react and panic. Borrows a lot from John Wick and has a Bourne vibe to it.

The young girl is solid enough and Statham is just his usual self. Rest of the characters are paper thin 2d, with a bit too much time early on left to Statham looking moodily out to sea and a few other filler bits.

Maybe would have been to much of a cliche for the girl to turn out was his daughter

Watched this tonight in an empty cinema, which was actually nice. If you like Statham you know what you're getting. Otherwise really nothing to see. The girl was quite good, and I like Nighy, even though he's underused, he's watchable in everything imo.

As expected now finally watched it, it's like any other Statham film in the last 10 years, it works for him and they must make enough money to keep funding new ones, did feel like a mix of his previous films and major plot points from others like John Wick to get this going.

They missed a trick not doing a 'omg that's Jason Bourne'
