I had parts 1 and 2 for dreamcast and thought they were great games, but where is number 3? I remember reading a few years ago that they were going to do another one but I can't find anything about it anywhere, whats happened to it?

I need to know what happens with Ryo!

There was talk of an MMORPG style game set in the Shemue world, however there has been no solid plans for a finale to the story.

Mainly the fact that Shenmue has already cost sega tens of millions and not sold well enough to get anywhere near to recouping the outlay.

As much as i'd love to see a decient close to the story i've pretty much given up on sega ever doing a Shenmue 3 :(

As said it cost them a load of money, Shenmue didnt sell enough on the DC, the sequel was a limited release over here on DC, the Xbox version sold crap as well so though its got a very solid fanbase its not a profitable franchise and every year that goes by without it i'd say the chances are lowering.

It was an amazing series though (in my top 5 all time games) remember my first play of Shenmue on christmas 2000 fondly :) forklift drivings never been so much fun :p

Wish M$ would pull their finger out and get Shenmue 2 working on the 360.

Ive only played shenmue to the end of the second disk (couldnt get my disk 3 to load :( ) Ive got a perfect condition copy of Shenmue 2 on my DC that I have never played, maybe one day I will get round to playing it (damn you education/work/women)

Man i love Shenmue. Such a great game and story.

Shenmue Online is uspposedly being released in Korean and China End of 2006/2007. Not sure. There was a new trailer for it released some time ago, can get it here...

Really wish Shenmue 3 would get developed though :( Loved playing Shenmue during Xmas 2000. Was amazing.

Everytime I hear about shenmue it reminds of how good the game looked! Far better than most of the games ever to be released on the more graphically superior PS2.

Heck it can still hold its own in todays games as well, with only the texture detail (caused by the dreamcasts lack of vram) letting it down.
