Sherlock - Series 2 - BBC

Could the 3 episodes have something to do with a certain film being made about a certain Hobbit too :)

I'd forgotten about that, both the main actors in Sherlock are also in The Hobbit (one playing a very Big part, the other just a big part ;)), which is something I suspect they would not want to miss doing (they're probably getting paid much, much better for that than for Sherlock as well as it being something completely different and a major international film rather than British TV).

Apparently Jackson halted filming of the Hobbit over the summer when Sherlock was filmed just to allow it be be filmed...He's supposedly a big fan of it himself.

Well I very much enjoyed it.
Some wonderful lines, 'and there in one sentence, is the summary of a childhood' ;)
Hope the other two are just as much fun.
When is the airing of the next episode?

I just wish more things on TV were like this - why is Moffat wasting his time doing several poor episodes of Doctor Who when he could be modernising more Sherlock Holmes - are 3 episodes really worthy of a series? :(

ps3ud0

Moffat only writes one episode per series of Sherlock, so that pretty much answers your question there.

I have to admit that I was quite worried about a modern interpretation of Holmes and quite how it would work when I first heard they were making Sherlock. Im also a massive fan of the Jeremy Brett Holmes so I never thought I take to a modern version at all as in my opinion Brett is the definitive Holmes.

I was absolutely wrong, I think the first series and the first episode of the second have been fantastic. Long may the BBC continue to make programs like this. Can't wait to see what they do with The Hound of the Baskervilles :) I can only imagine they changed the name of the third episode to the Reichenbach Falls rather that the Final Problem as that title may have suggested an end to the series. All the other episode titles have been pretty much a play on the original story titles.

Wow. Why didn't you bleeders tell me about how good this was before? Just caught the latest ep on BBC iplayer and it was superb.

Now I'm going to have to hunt for a series 1 box set, or wait for repeats somewhere.

There is a series 1 and 2 set coming out on January 23rd so you could wait? The series 1 and 2 pack on Blu-ray is just over £25 for a pre-order price.

Series one is only about a tenner on blu-ray :)
Less than a tenner, more than a fiver. ;)

Thanks Wolfie - just one-clicked it from the usual place :)

Yeah, I saw that when I was ordering. I'll actually be watching the rest of S2 the normal way, so just the S1 blu ray will do me :)

very good episode - except for the the bit right at the end which stretched credulity - they should have left it as it was.
