I have two Shield boxes in our house connected to Samsung TV's

One in the living room is a Samsung UE50NU7440 and has a shield TV and Disney+
On this TV Disney plus will only show the content as HD; it won't even list the 4k HDR bit in the info of programs

One in the bedroom is a Samsung UE40NU7120 and again has a shield TV with Disney+
This one will list and show content in 4k HDR

Settings on the TV's seem to match and the NU7440 is 4K and HDR10+ from what I remember

Any ideas what could be causing this difference?

swapped the shields over? same result?

Not yet; at the moment its keep my 6yo entertained and quiet :) thank god! so will swap over when he's entertained with something else

Is it not the case that some TVs can't do 4K/HDR etc on all HDMI ports? Might be worth checking.

I did think that as the only difference in set up is that the living room TV goes through a Denon AVRX2300W amp; but I believe this has 4k passthrough against all HDMI outputs

I need to check actually to make sure the PS4 pro outputs to 4k and HDR ok...if so I suppose I can rule that out?

OK so tried the PS4 pro and thats showing as the below

I've googled for my TV and the HDMI cable is in HDMI1 whilst in the settings I can't see anything for enabling HDR?

Have now swapped the living room and bedroom shield boxes; as soon as I plugged them in... living room gets 4k, hdr and dolby atmos and the one from the bedroom that had 4k and hdr, only shows HD

So I presume shield boxes are ok

Have swapped cable on the amp to the shield box and no change
Swapped the HDMI to a different socket; no change
Plugged the shield into the tv direct; no change

Am just doing a update on the TV to see if that makes any difference and outside of that; will bring the TV down from upstairs and set up via the amp to see if that still works.

At this rate I'm thinking its a setting on the TV?

Think I've got somewhere with it; when plugging in direct between the bedroom TV and living room TV the settings would change on the shield

When the 4k HDR Atmos worked on the Shield in Disney+ it was on the bedroom TV with display mode on the shield of 3840x2160 YUV 420 10-bit Rec. 2020 but the living room TV would only go to 8-bit......that is the only difference I can see

Bit confused by this because the TV is supposedly HDR10+ although on one website I've seen its 8+2
What does this mean?

OMG found it - TheVoice you were right; couldnt find anything in my manual but found it for a different Samsung model. Enable UHD colour was within an external device management setting. Why its not enabled from day 1 is beyond me
