Shield/Android help...

Im just purchased an Nvidia Shield and wanted to use it exclusively for Kodi. Unfortunately Launch on Boot doesnt seem launch Kodi when Im waking the device, despite the option being activated in the LOB sliders. I now see this is a known issue on wake and a limitation of Android.

Can anyone offer a solution or an alternative means to boot to Kodi please? The Shield is ONLY for Kodi, to enable me to playback 4K HDR.

I naively assumed you would be able to install Kodi from scratch and not have to use the Android/Shield OS. Sort of the equivalent to OpenELEC etc.

Is there a solution?

No solution as far as I found, its a shame the Libreelec guys have no interest in a Shield release but I'm sure they have their reasons. The plus point of the shield (and other boxes) running Android as it stands though is the ability to make shortcuts in KODI for netflix, amazon. iplayer etc so its all contained in KODI, I just leave it on 99% of the time unless adding more files to my external drives.
