shift lever sticking on downchange

Hi

On a Honda CBR125 when down changing the lever doesn't come back up to centre by itself. You have to lift it up with your foot.

What could be causing this?

Unless your really heavy footed & have some how managed to mash the gearbox, it's usually caused by a build up of road gunk in the shift lever shaft tunnel.

clean all the crud off it from where the chain flings all the oil,then squirt some wd40 on it,an oil/filter change might help things too

When was the last time you changed the oil?

This is my old bike that I sold to a friend.

I had a look at it thie evening and the shift lever was slightly bent making it catch the stand. I bent it back and it's now fine.
