This is going to sound like the stupidest question, but, when I play five-a-side the ankle part of my shin pad rides up my ankle and becomes uncomfortable.

I see player with tape around their shin, is this for that reason or a different one?
Also what can I do to stop it stretching and riding up?

Thanks!

What type of tape do you use?
I was thinking of just getting electrical tape, but it sounds a bit dim.
Also do you tape the outside of the sock, or inside?

O yeh :D
"Sock Tape" on ebay has brought up a few results, so will get one. When I strike a really hard shot, my shin pad moves around which will hopefully be cured by this :)

Strap it up with leccy tape.
Got an injury? Strap it up with leccy tape.
Need a temporary captain's armband? Use leccy tape.

Leccy tape is awesome for football :p

I've always used the type of pads with a fabric sock at the bottom that goes over your heel. Keeps them in place nicely and has some extra armour around the lower ankle.

I just used some, and it has solved my problems :)
Just a quick follow up, do you use the thin stuff 19mm or 50mm?

I think I will get some wide stuff from screwfix when I got past next.

I have a pair of these as well, with extra padding on the ankle bone which has come in handy a couple of times!

Few quid extra than just pads but saves money on tape to strap them in place!!

Just an update, I have the padding bit at the bottom, but the elastic that goes under the foot is the bit I wanted secure, got two rolls of 33 metre tape from screwfix for a pound and it does the job :)

(I used up the old leccy tape I had)
