Hi, I've bought this expansion for oblivion recently (soon to arrive) but since doing a reformat a few months back don't have any game saves to resurect my character.
Rather than having to replay oblivion is there a way of just playing shivering Isles content with a new character?
Also I used a few mods to improve the look of the game with the original will these work with the new content S.I. provides.

Anyone who's been playing it could you give us a short post on what your thoughts are so far and how the game fairs against Oblivion ;)

Yes, you can do the Shivering Isles at any player level. Even level 1. Although you will not receive any of levelled weapons or rings, and probably won't come across the full range of creatures.

I had to start again because certain mods had conflicts... :( Currently at level 11, having just completed the mages guild and a few quests from the fighters guild.

Will complete the main quest next and probably go into Shivering Isles at about level 21+
 
if you look in any oblivion mod site you will find tons of pre-made save game characters. some are high levels (done thru training) but not carried out any quests, others are just peoples save games.
but as Andrew sez. you can access it from the word go.
