do miss the old space shooters.pitty more aint done on pc.especially with the pcs people have now.looks decent not tried it though.
 
Crimson Clover World ignition is well-regarded.

I've got it and played it, and it's quite a blast, but I'm not really so keen on the bullet-hell type shooter. Would prefer a more western-style SHMUP.
 
I'm a man of simple tastes, so give me Space Invaders, Defender, Galaxians, Phoenix, Thrust, Zaxxon, 1942 or R-Type with updated graphics and I'll be a happy camper.
 
Darius Burst is ok but still has the original hammering the button for rapid fire, you can't hold it down from memory.

If you love your bullet hell games like I do, look for anything from Cave on Steam, the likes of Death Smiles etc

Raiden V would be a good shout but only if they have patched out the issue of locking the framerate of the game to the refresh rate of the monitor, runs a little fast on 144hz screens.

I have a fair few on my account, I can update the list when i check which ones I would recommend.
 
Jets 'n' Guns Gold. Has music by Machinae Supremacy, which is a huge bonus :D

Sine Mora. (EX is enhanced/remade version). Has problem that if run higher than 30fps, the game increases speed of play too. Unless it got patched. /shrug.

Stardust Galaxy Warriors: Stellar Climax.

Solar Shifter EX. No idea why the reviews are so bad. There are times when the camera makes it a bit of a bitch to aim at things, because it changes your aim, but I enjoyed the game. Worth checking on youtube first I guess. It definitely throws a few too many particles about though at times.
 
I'm hoping that this https://ataribox.com is going to be as epic as it could be. Imagine a shedload of the old classics, but updated to modern graphics and resolutions, in such a tidy looking piece of gear.

No doubt I'm going to be disappointed, but one can dream.
 
Spent a little time with this one tonight, DARIUSBURST.

It plays very nicely. The shooting seems solid and not as wishywashy as others (for want ot a better word lol).

Over the 2 screens though... Bit of a wow factor there!

Happy with the purchase, all good. Recommended.

  • Super Galaxy Squadron EX Turbo
These are the ones I continue to play, there are others on the Steam list I own but they aren't great.

This!!! So much this!!!

I came in looking for a good suggestion or two, and intending to suggest Sine Mora (not the 'best' shooter, but beautifully presented and great fun), but all I can think about is how bad the music is in that video!!
