I have 2 x 120GB WD Caviar SE on my 680i in RAID1

Just ran a quick check using HDTACH the numbers are horrific.

I used to use the exact same disks on my MAX3 with a Sil 3114

the Sil 3114 60 to approx 35MB/sec seq read burst 120MB/sec ish

I mean omfg that is nasty

The array isn't in rebuild or anything.

Anyone else using RAID1 on this board.

Cheers

My raptors are on as single disks no raid the performance of them is fine.

How do you disable NCQ on the system though I can't see how this would make a difference surely if the drives don't support it just isn't used.

Windows setting.

Under Disk Drives

For Nvidia Mirror disable Tagged Queueing?

Can you confirm its that setting.

Cheers Mate

Ok sorry under SATA section.

The raptor has command queueing enabled but the caviars have the box greyed out so I assume is disabled.

The raptors are fine but I was thinking to RAID them later this month. If I do disable the queueing?

All are running at SATA 150 which is to be expected. Dam I'm not sure how to fix this. Its not a big problem as I only use the caviar's as a mirror for backups just a bit odd seeing as they were twice as fast on my old board.

Must admit my SATA raid experience is limited to proper hardware controllers Eonstor and 3ware at work. I have tried a couple of onboard ones so far the Intel ICH series seem very good Sil not too bad but these Nvidia ones totally suck TBH.

Thanks
