Shogun 2 Total War on Steam

I must be the only one in the world that enjoyed Empire! lol

I mean ofc it doesn't come anywhere near as good as Rome or M2 but I thoroughly enjoy it all the same - still play occasionally :) (mostly online rather than campaign admittedly).

I'm just worried that 'S2' will be far too graphics orientated... also I already don't like the 'capture the flag' style of the seige battles -_-

I thought Empire was good, but Napoleon was soo much better. The fights were a lot better, the sounds and graphics made the lines of musket men slaughtering eachother a lot more fun. Will be nice to have arrows back though.

Medieval II was the peak for me - shogun with better graphics and the complexities of Med II will be awesome! Hopefully they can win me back after the horrendous Empire and Napoleon games.

Loved Medieval I the most, was the best rounded of the TW games, with great AI and a working valour system. Rome had great scale, as did Empire. Unfortunatly the AI in Empire + bugs really let the game down imo. Medieval II was the worst of them all for me, bad AI, battles where only heavy cavalry mattered, 50% of the units were bugged in the game.

I really hope CA take onboard player advice and bring the series back to the roots, tone down the arcadieness a bit. Better online support and a proper online campaign would be welcome too :) I feel a bit burnt out with the TW series as a whole atm, it's just much less tactically deep than the originals. Here is to hoping they change that.

Lol how can they be stolen from the Final Fantasy series when the Nodachi/Odachi weapons actually existed long before a videogame series. :p

LOL you don`t say?! ;)

I remember I got way too ahead of myself at one point and made an entire squad full of just the Nodachi Samurai troops up to the maximum limited it was allowed and used them to take on an enemy province. Bad idea that was since it was one of those terrains where both sides were seperated by a river with two bridges only, and of course the enemy had archers (Only 2 small units too!). You can easily tell how this battle went. :D

Haha I totally did that too. :D
