I started upgrading my I7 3770/R9 290 PC in November 2018
And just finished with the final form and stability testing / overclocking

Seems to have finally worked out well
its prime 95 small fft stable at 5ghz all core with a -0.0035V undevolt

Added another NVME drive and secured the optane drive down better (Bottom 3 Pictures)

The Corsair HX1200i went faulty and had to go back to corsair for replacment
the 12v rail was all over the place 11.7v 11.4v 11.1v 12.096v
I noticed a few days after it started random crashing whilst in the bios it was reading 11.1v

Im not really happy with it tbh my old HX750 used to read 3.340 volts with a muilti meter and was something like 3.315v in the bios

The hx1200i even the replacment reads 3.290v with a multimeter
and 3.265v in the bios

if i fully load the gpu and cpu with prime and such

i can get that to around 3.096v with the hx1200i

The 12v seems fine on the replacement

Cant help myself still going

September 2020
Sabrent Rocket 2TB (Replaces Toshiba XG3 512GB)
Intel Optane 800P 118GB (Replaces 16GB Intel Optane M10 Scratchdrive) (Not here yet coming from hk via speedpak)

Nvidia Geforce RTX 3080 (hoping to get one on launch day direct from nvidia)

I have decided to change to one of the better Z390 boards which means going atx
I have never been fully happy with the VRM's on the Z390 M Gaming as i am too close to its limits with the 9900KS
I am hoping i can stabalise it at lower voltages on a better board

Only two retailers had Aorus Z390 Master still instock at rrp
I was umming and ahing too much the other day so missed out on it at £239
another retailer had 2 left at £269 so it was now or never if i wanted new stock

I have to pick up a Case also

I have the following coming
Aorus Z390 Master
Fractal Meshify S2 Dark
2 x NVMe PCIe x4 M.2 NGFF SSD to PCIe x1

This will mean some changes in the layout

If M2M is used i lose SATA 4 + Sata 5
So SATA will be dropping down from 5 to 4

M2A doesnt share anything if used in PCIe mode

M2P The PCIEX4 slot shares bandwidth with the M2P connector. The PCIEX4 slot operates at up to x2 mode when a PCIe SSD is installed in the M2P connector.

The manual makes no mention of M2P dropping to 2x if PCIEX4 is used
so i presume only 2 of the lanes from PCIEX4 where shared

So i should be able to run the Intel Optane 800p at 2x (its only 2x anyway) in the PCIEX4 slot and still get 4x on M2P

M2M = Sabrent Rocket 1TB 4 x PCIe Link
M2A = Sabrent Rocket 1TB 4 x PCIe Link
M2P = Sabrent Rocket 2TB 4 x PCIe Link
PCIEX4 = Intel Optane 800p 120GB 2 x PCIe Link
PCIEX1_1 = Corsair MP510 480GB 1 x PCIe Link
PCIEX1_2 = Toshiba XG3 512GB 1 x PCIE Link
PCIEX1_3 = Intel Optane M10 16GB 1 x PCIE Link
PCIEX8 = None Drops PCIEX16 to 8x if used

If all things work out as expected

PCIe drives will go from 5 to 7
SATA drives will go from 5 to 4

Asus 3080 TUF OC still on order at OCUK queue position 404 on 14/10/20

Think i will do a new thread when i rebuild it today as this one is long..

This case is awful to build in the psu area is awful and i have no way to get in there

The NVME Drive in the top 1x slot balancing on 3M Sponge Tape is a temp solution
whilst i wait for the pcie1x to m.2 to arrive from china

There will be another pcie1x to m.2 nvme drive going in the last 1x slot also

The Corsair MP510 is in its perm place

it turned out M2P if a 4x nvme drive is in there it drops PCIEX4 to 2x and M2P to 2x
Gigabyte Didnt document it in the manual
so i cant use PCIEX4 for the Intel Optane 800p which is a shame
