I played Raptor a long time ago, didn't realise it was so highly regarded just thought it was a solid shooter.

wow my friends used to oqwn arcades where i used to live and ask what board would be coming in next week love the shoot em ups like raiden trad and other old space shooters.

wish there were more about on pc.

Another shmup (going to start using this term now) I'd reccomend is Beat Hazard.

Its a arena shmup with a twist, you can load any song you have into it and the gameplay reacts to the tempo of the song - use a chilled out song and the game will be easy, use thrash metal and the game will be very challenging.

I played Cell HD Emergence but I didn't understand it at all.

Its a shmup inside a human body and you have to shoot the invading viruses...or something like that.
