Getting to the end of STALKER which I've enjoyed and it's time to find a new long winded game.
I also play Oblivion but have done that to death.
Are there any shooter RPG type games a bit like STALKER? I really liked the post nuclear landscape and survival element?

I assumed that would'nt be out for years...............
don't get much time these days to check out whats happening in the gaming world.
 
I'd suggest Deus Ex here. For a game 8 years old it's every bit as impressive as it was back in 2000. Invisible war is a decent game on it's own merit, but it's a shambles of a sequel to possible the best PC game ever made.

I've yet to play Stalker but I'm considering buying it this week.

I'll hold out till Clear Sky and also have a look at Mass Effect (different style I know but interesting)

In the meantime I've downloaded a ton of STALKER mods and I'll re-play it.
 
Dead Island which is a first person horror shooter/rpg, is out later this year.
I agree that Stalker was a fine game. Try playing it through again with the AMK 1.4 mod. These clever Russian guys have totally altered the A-Life program. Now Stalkers loot corpses and sell their spoils to the traders. The combat AI is also more impressive. My fave game to date.
 
replaying with the Faiakes mod.
changes tons of things.
HL2 was a yawnfest 2nd time around.
STALKER is twice as good 2nd time around:)
You know what to do and where to go and enjoy it more. Still rock hard sometimes!
 
System Shock 2 again :p

Amazing atmosphere. Just make sure you read the non-spoiler noob guide to reduce frustration whilst you're getting to grips with them game.
