Anyone with any experience of shopping in Japan.... How do the prices compare, worth buying over there and bring it back to UK? Or perhaps the airport shopping in Heathrow?

Looks like I will have at least a couple of business trips in September and October.

I have in mind a D810 or D610 with standard zoom, plus perhaps a couple of Lenses.... (not all the same time)...

Where about are you going?

The only thing you'd need to worry about is declaring it through customs. I remember buying a camera out there 7 years ago and it was cheaper then the UK, but I'm unsure what it would be like now.

The reason I ask it my brother-in-law lives there and I could ask him to check if you required it!

AFaik Japan prices are higher than UK.
Also be aware the camera warranty will only be valid in Japan.

D810 is normally only available as body only. I highly recommend the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8

Yokohama and Oppama regions.
One of my engineers will be there for about 2.5 months and I'll pop over to support and for reviews as required.

24-70 and 16 to something are my top requirements for a return to a modern FF body... I'll keep the D7000 for long lens work. (Have the 70-300vr2 and an old Tamron 500mm mirror lens

Any webpages advertising local prices? I know the rate isn't so good for us now, hence airport shop in Heathrow might be the best deal?
