So last Sunday I ordered Portal 2 from the above, Monday came I had by despatch email, happy days I thought.

Now a week later I have no game, I am assuming the scumbag ***** at Royal Mail have pinched it, I have looked on the Shopto website and I have to wait 15 working days (3rd August) before I can claim a lost parcel.

Now I know there is nothing I can do but wait until this day (and it's bloody frustrating!) but my question is has anybody else had to claim lost packages through Shopto? Are they relatively good with this or do they question everything and try to squirm out sending a replacement?

The website makes it seem painless, but I'm expecting trouble.

It won't be any trouble, RM will send you a letter and ask you to fill out and sign a questionnaire.

If they are anything like Play or Amazon they'll just ship you another copy no questions.

I know I have to complete a form and send it to Shopto off their website after reporting a lost delivery, do I need to do Royal Mail as well?

Because Royal Mail will want you to effectively sign a statement saying that you're telling the truth.

I am in the exact same position as you only I ordered Marvel Vs Capcom 3 from GAME, emailed them and they said the same have to wait 15 working days then send a claim form off to Royal Mail.

I'm a little confused now, are you saying I will need to do both? As on the website it says only either the seller or buyer can claim for a lost package.

I assume me using the form from Shopto and sending it to them (I have to sign this form and send it back to them via email/post) is Shopto claiming from Royal Mail.

Stinks dont it. :(

Next time I order a game online I will certainly pay the extra for registered/recorded delivery.

Pretty sure when my bro had a missing parcel with game that he just printed off and signed a form he emailed back to game and they did the rest. Never had a problem with shopto's delivery but the royal fail has its ups and downs!

You tell shopto it didn't arrive.

Shopto send a claim to royal mail.

Royal mail will send you a letter at some point asking you to swear you didn't receive it.

It's up to shopto as to whether they send a new one or wait for the conclusion of the loss claim (up to 90 days).

ps3ud0 had the same issue when he ordered Test Drive Unlimited 2. Can't remember what happened but I think he got a replacement copy from them after about 2 or 3 weeks.

Was just going to post, pretty much same experience as above, emailed a photo of the signed lost parcel form to them after the 15days were up and they sent me a replacement eventually - wasnt too long and they definitely didnt delay waiting for RM, they just mentioned to potentially expect a similar form from them aswell...

Only complication I had was that it was a preorder but they weaseled out of giving me that token £3 discount as it didnt arrive on the day of release because unfortunately their textto system at the time automatically defaulted to standard first class rather than recorded for preorders but they have fixed that now...

They dont notify you when they send out the replacement IIRC, it just turns up

WTF?

I just had an email from Shopto saying I have had a Paypal refund to my account.....I have also had an email from Paypal confirming a credit for the amount to my account.

Did you ask for a refund rather than a replacement?

Best to give them a call - in all honesty their customer service isnt the best, you just need to make your position clear and unfortunately I dont tend to think they will bend over backwards to help you though unlike other online retailers...

Curious - Ive never used PP with a retailer before so unsure what their procedures would be. Sounds like an error in your favour, but no doubt they could just reverse the refund...

Best give them a call, even if it is to reorder the same item if the above suits you rather than a direct replacement - small chance they might not have stock of the item though? Was it a sale price or something?

Maybe they screwed your order up somehow then and it was never sent?

Did you order the 360 pr PS3 - 360 version says "pre-order"?

Just ordered it myself - ta anti :(

Deffo call them as it appears the 360 price has gone up - fingers crossed you get someone useful. Cynic in me thinks theyve run out of stock when taking your order, cant explain the unrequested refund any other way...
