I was attempting to screw on GPU radiator to case but screw went in at a dodgy angle. As I took screw out there were a few metal (thin) strips from the screw that came off. Without thinking I wiped them away and they went into the graphics card through side vent. Will this now cause problems for my card? Will it explode or something?

Yeah booted card up and tried shaking... nothing came out as I was shaking it though. Like, this is probably paranoia to the extreme but when I booted up the Witcher 3.... performance was bit worse than before thin metal strips went in card...

Doubt that was caused by the short.
If you want to rid yourself of the paranoia a spray duster for a few secs will get any bits of metal out of there
