Short term Sun Server Hire

Does anyone know of any companies that offer short term server hire, say 1 or 2 weeks?

I've got a Sun Fire v240 running a couple of critical line of business applications in Oracle. We need to upgrade to Solaris 10, Oracle 11 and the 2 applications and databases. Last time we did this we were down for 2 days and read-only for 1 day, but the number of users has increased significantly since then and being down for more than few hours is hugely inconveinient. We are also going to move the databases to SAN storage rather than local as part of this project.

Doing the work out of hours or at a weekend is a no go.

My current idea (and do tell me if you think it's flawed) is if we could hire a server of similar spec, whack our discs in it and keep running that would give us a bit of headroom to get the server linked up to the SAN, upgrade the RAM, install Solaris 10 and then get the Oracle and applications installed on a clean box. This will need us to get some new discs but that was probably going to happen anyway because they are 5 years old.

Usually we would look at virtualisation, but because this is all SPARC and our VM platform is x86 that seems a bit of a non-starter.

So, any reccomedations for server hire or another way of doing it would be appreciated.

Solaris x86 is binary compatible with Sparc Solaris so in theory you should be able to migrate from the V240 to an x86 VM but the main problem is ISV support

I know this is going to sound flippant, but if its that critical, why don't you have a test environment or spare capacity to swing your migration around? What happens if your hardware fails right now?

Given you can afford oracle licensing - surely a new server is simplest? The v240 is old hardware now, you should be replacing it fairly soon anyway so why go through the pain of reinstalling and migrating stuff twice??
