Short term VPN

I'm trying to get my images back out of imgur, which is blocked in the UK due to the online act malarky.

Am I right in saying that if I use something like a VPN which appears from a non-UK country, then I should be able to access the images to download again ?

If so, any recommendations for something sort term ? A lot of the normal big-companies offerings tie you into paying for a 2 year deal, but you can get your money back within 30 days.

Is there anything where I can just get a short term one off payment ? I'm not interested a long term thing, nor the hassle of buying, then cancelling.

Just use provider that has a free tier that allows server location change. Such as Proton VPN.

Yeah Proton VPN is perfect for this. Sign up with free account, install the software and click connect. It will put you to Netherlands/USA or if you get super unlucky, UK. Just wait 5 minutes and click reconnect till you get the lottery of somewhere not the UK. I got Proton for £1.61 a month in Cyber Monday so happy with that.

You can do this with Firefox or Opera without having to sign up to anything, just download the browser and go with opera, or an extension with Firefox.

If it is just from your account I believe you can still request a download of your account via the imgur help centre without needing a VPN.

I did that, and it replied with an email:

Code:
Thank you for reaching out to Imgur Support.

Please note that the information we can provide includes:
- Basic account details (username, email, account creation date, last login, reputation)
- Information about your uploads

To download your images, you’ll need to do so directly by following the steps in our Image Downloads guide. Support is unable to provide downloads of uploaded content on your behalf.

If you still need help after reviewing this information, please reply directly to this message and we’ll be happy to assist you further.

- Imgur Support

which requires you to log into your account ... which you can't because when you land on the homepage it immediately blocks further access to to UK IP's saying content not available.

What's going on with proton VPN at the moment ? I can't connect to any peers in any countries on my android. This is over my home broadband and EE mobile

Any other free decent vpns about? Proton has been solid for me until the last couple of days

Edit. My phone needed a restart. False alarm
