Shortening PSU cables - how have you?

I've found a number of guides on the web for shortening cables on non-modular PSUs, and they all use a variety of methods - cut the wire, solder and re-sleeve, remove the wires from the sockets, crimp(?) and put them back in...

What approach have you done? I'm planning to build in the Rajintek Metis, and the Silverstone 300W SFX PSU has ridiculously long cabling for this case.

If I was to do this I'd cut the cable, strip and terminate at the desired length. You'd need a crimping tool of course and plenty of terminals. I think they are cheap enough to buy.

Cutting and soldering would leave a piece of heatshrink on your cables. This would be cheaper but wouldn't look so nice.
