Wanting to buy some tarty levers and just wondering whether people recommend shorty ones or normal length ones? Have never used shorties before so don't want to buy them and hate them! (not exactly cheap!). What advantage does it have? (bike is an Aprilia RSV-R)

Thanks.

I'd go for shorties every time now that I've experienced them. Find them much more responsive as they've got less distance to travel when you're applying them. They also look much better IMO.

I usually find my left (clutch) hand gets very tired on a ride, would less leverage make this worse (i.e. harder to pull) or is it better because it's closer in the first place?

I'm guessing from physics of pivots, a shorter lever = larger force required. Although you could adjust them so the bite isnt so close to the handlebars?

Stubby f-t-w! :D

I have small hands so they make my life much easier.

Plus, if you ever drop the bike stubby levers will most likely not get damaged :)

That was my thinking... I can't see how a shorter leverage on the pivot could possibly make it any more comfortable, it would be harder to pull theoretically! But then I suppose it's not like I actually pull the lever right from the end when I'm using it now at standard length.

I've got average sized hands and if I drop the bike the levers will be the least of my worries when you consider how much fairings cost!

Does anyone see there being any issues with me taking the whole lever set up from a newer VFR and applying it to mine. thus giving me the opportunity to fit short levers?

Only issue i can think of is the inside size of the clamp being smaller or bigger than the other.

Currently I cant get any for my model :(

Apologies for reviving an old thread, but I too need some info on these short levers for my 04 CBR600RR.

Brake lever is definitely going to be bought, since the brakes are good enough for 2 finger stopies, which is all I use anyway with the standard lever.

However the clutch is different, always 4 fingers, and even then in traffic it gets tiring. Perhaps the cable has dried out. Anyone else has experience with these short clutch levers?

Had shorty clutch levers on both of my previous bikes (2009 ER-6f, 2008 GSX-R750) and never had a problem. My braking hand gets achy way before my clutch hand normally. Though that's actually more the wrist on the Gixxer, which is why I'm selling it :)

I have long but had a test ride a couple of weeks ago on zx12 with stubs and the clutch felt well odd brake was fine tho but in the long run think I prefer long on both.
