I'm going to be the party pooper here and criticise a little...

Nothing is actually in focus; where is the sharp detail?
You should process this a bit too; adjust levels and contrast.

criticism is good!!

did you save the image to desktop, it looks much better when browsers aren't filtering colour out of it.

in focus are the tips of the petals and also some of the nearer stamen (?think that's what they're called)

not too sure I agree about the levels - it's a very yellow flower...maybe you could elaborate on what you'd do? also, the contrast has been upped to give more definition to the stamen(?) and tips of the petals as they're ever-so slightly blown out at the end.

it's probably not normally one I'd have posted - I guess I'm partly showing off my new camera :D

if you can be bothered to show me what you'd have done differently, the RAW will be here in about 6 minutes

Nothing in the RAW looked overly sharp to me. What lens were you using? Remember the kit lenses usually can't focus closer than 30cm, so it's worth backing away and zooming or cropping.

This is how I would have done it (in Lightroom). Yes it's OTT and not real life, but hey, it's taste!

Also regarding composition , I think the black space in the bottom right should be way bigger or way smaller. The flower centre and that space are fighting my eye for attention!
