...bit concerned about it though. Don't want it to turn into a horror story!

I've been so happy with my ADSL Max connection for the last 1.5-2 yrs I've been on it.

Line stats are currently:

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 8128 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 14.0 db 8.0 db
Noise Margin 13.4 db 24.0 db

My actual throughput averages out at about 6.5 - 7.0kbps

And I'm using a Netgear DG834G V4 with firmware version 5.01.09

I think you mean 6.5-7Mbps? 6.5-7kbps is in old skool 128k ISDN territory :P

Are those stats on ADSL2+ service or your ADSLMAx service? I'm assuming the latter.

What are you worried about exactly?

Kind of similar to my stats. On a good day (with tweaking) I managed 23.5 mbits. It dips down to 19mbits at times though :/

thanks guys,

i'd just read one or two horror stories about switching to adsl2+ mostly centering around incompatibility issues between routers and exchange equipment, however I'm using a Netgear which are apparently OK with all the exchange equipment.

i looked at dslzone and it reckons i should get between 16-22mb which will do for me!

anyway...for various BT **** up related issues the upgrade didn't happen today and should be going ahead next week.
