lol - thats not even worth an answer.yeh right. it is about the birth of jesus isnt it? take that out and what have you got left ...nothing![]()
Well if its 3 of them in a village then yes i can see your point but still the fault lies with the school for pandering to their stupid request. And im not the only muslim who feels like this...there are plenty more who would probably say the same thing.
I dont know maybe because they are idiots??...personally if i was the school head i would have told them to go get stuffed in all honesty...they can either partake in the activities or not attend...which is the simple solution.
Or maybe they are just idiots??...which id put my money on but as i said previously above its the schools fault for pandering to their silly requests in all honesty and this is why this country is going to the dogs...there isnt any need to pander to their requests...sure take their feelings into consideration but make it clear that the clear majority isnt their wishes/feelings.
...and that is my point. I'm not blaming just the families concerned but the school itself (actually the school still want it but the education authority are the ones upholding the dispute).
Then why are you bothered about the school play not being Christian, and why do you think it affects your children?
It doesn't just affect my children, it affects everyones. My little devils are far from 'angels'. Please don't paint the picture of me as 'Ned Flanders' (far from it lol). I believe it would also benefit the muslims families kids. I certainly would not object to my children attending a play about Alah/Mohammed/Buddha or any other figurehead as it would give my kids a rounded, informed education (RE is afterall part of the curriculum). I certainly would not have the guile to object to this in a country where that religion was the primary faith and I was alien.
While I have no objections to J&B, a nativity play is not only religion but also tradition (at least where I live). Why should this be changed for a minority who 'claim' they are offended and it will upset their kids? It's a play for goodness sake and while for adults it does represent christianity, the kids are more interested in dressing up as donkeys and kings so it makes little difference to them, especially at such a young age. It is however a method by promoting the underpinnings of the value of Christmas. So it's not just the fact that the kids will be missing out on what is a very loose religious educational experience (defining the true meaning of christmas and thereby giving it some value) but the principal that a tradition is being waylaid by a group who are intent to spoil it for the majority. I mean where does it stop? Ban xmas trees, xmas lights, stop the kids sending xmas cards in the playgorund? Stop father xmas visiting? or any other reference to Christmas? That really is something to worry about.
/end rant
