Should DLSS always be "effective" in games?

I just started a game of Death Stranding..man it looks good! But...im wondering..at 2K high details I was averaging around 160~ fps, which is good dont get me wrong (very efficient on the wattage too might I add), but after enabling / disabling, DLSS and FG..the fps hardly made a dent?

Now im not sure, hence asking of in some circumstances that these "boosters" dont always have a big effect? is that the correct assumption?

Cheers.

At 160fps you are in the realms of being CPU limited in certain games. Try 1080p and see if you get an FPS boost.

Also at that FPS I would be looking at DLAA or DLDSR to up image quality as you clearly have performance to spare. DLDSR really does give a nice image over standard 2k for me.

RDR2 and starfield are two I've played recently that I've used it on.

find its happenin in newer titles, i find Forza makes very little if any difference when comes to DLSS, even the geforce experience profiles are a mess of late, its trying to get me to play forza at 1440p ultra without dlss, like i wish

under gaming load im mid 40's on the CPU. that was after about what? 3 hour session. worth it imo. but again..I have been temped to increase it
so ive done extension testing with 5900x at stock vs ECO mode At 1440p And you lose around 5-10 FPS for around 20C difference.

So ECO mode is great the only thing to watch out for is 1 CCD gets hit harder so CPU CCD1 might be at 40C but the other is at 67C so as long as you got good mounting it helps a fair bit :)

Hi mate. I appreciate you Doing some research on this..

That’s great to know. I think the mounting is done correctly, as in games my CPU temp (according to afterburner) is mid to high 40’s

So I would rather that for some extra frames that tbh run at a lot and run smoothly anyways!

no worries, i tested in a wide range of games as I like a silent system so eco mode helps a lot!

depends if your into willy waggling or sprouting elitist rubbish ;)

in reality unless your playing league based e sports over a certain fps it will make little to no difference even then its marginal on performance but most of these games are not to demanding
Dont look at max fps, its the minimums that get a big gain with x3d
