Should i be Getting Slow Down & Low FPS ?

Right then.

Dropping to 2xAA is a good start. Clocking your card is the next step.
Download BF3 settings editor and have a play.

If you want to max out BF3 at 1200p, you're going to need a 7950 at least :)

yeah that's another problem when I overclock via its built in CCC one it tends to freeze, how much should I be overclocking and am I best using the Overdrive one on CCC or is there something better ?
Default meaning off?

Get that card overclocked asap. No point in getting a 7xxx series card if you're gonna leave it at stock :)

Afterburner or Trixx. Hate ccc personally. I uninstalled it.
You may need to unlock voltages, but I'd see how high you can get on stock voltage first.
Ask or browse about in the graphics card sub-forum for more info on that.

Tbh, dropping to 2xAA should net you an extra 10fps or so. That'll put you close enough to 60fps. Add a bit of an OC and you should be laughing.

ive just whacked the overdrive gpu up to full in CCC and doesn't appear to be making any difference to the FPS ???
Tried 2xAA and it changes from 42 FPS to around 45

With my components can anyone tell me what the best and most stable speed I should overclock my cpu ?

3 fps difference huh? I'm sure I was getting better results with a 5870...

What are the max clocks in CCC?

Tbh, you should be able to get an easy 4ghz with a simple multiplier change to x40. Voltages shouldn't be a problem there.

yeah maybe 5 FPS at a push, its a small difference but its still a difference

the max clocks for CCC are 1150mhz for GPU and 1450mhz for Memory

The i7 3770k seems to overclock itself to 3.9ghz as standard and ive noticed it alters its clock speed as well I can only assume to maintain temp maybe, I was hoping more for something like 4.5ghz if possible, even if that means replacing my HSF, OC were doing it to this cPU on some rigs (not on same mobo) but would be something id like to do to my own.

Your cooler should be good for the job. 4.5 may push it a little, but it shouldn't be an issue with gaming temps.
What temps are you seeing on the gpu? Use GPU-Z or HWiNFO64/core temp/real temp.

Try using the BF3 settings editor to cap fps at 59 and let us know what happens. You may be surprised. No guarantees though :)

Also try disabling AA and just use FXAA (post AA) and see if you actually notice much difference in image quality.

WOAH!!! had the GPU in overdrive as i said then my comp slowed down like crazy then all of a sudden i got waves of distorted pixels on my screen then my computer rebooted...thats not normal when using CCC overclock surely ?..

think i best stay clear of overclocking its something ive never had much success with !! :(

Persevere my friend, persevere!
Would you avoid women for the rest of your life if the first encounter went badly? :D

Did you set power limit to +20%?

As has been said here before and I will repeat the point. Uninstall CCC and use something like MSI Afterburner.

@petey, what if its every women you have met? :p

To put it simply, a 7850 is not going to get you 60 FPS stable on Ultra in BF3, it's just not that high spec of a card :).

And if you want to overclock it properly, use MSI Afterburner, CCC causes nothing but trouble!

But don't do what the guy above said and uninstall CCC, you'll probably still need it for other things.

By the way with that MB I'd advise against crossfiring two GPU's. You only have 1 X16 slot available and the other card would have to go into a X4. Possible yes, but ideal? No.

lol, we must have faith :D

Uninstalling ccc sorted pretty much every issue I had with my card tbh.

To reiterate a couple of the above posts: Are you using the latest drivers and caps?
