ok....
brief explenation im hitting 44 idle and 58 pon load
this is with an E6600 at stock temps
i had the same with the stock cooler went to a scythe infinity...got the same maybe idle about 39 if my room was uhm cold lol now im with the Arctic Freezer 7 PRO n im hitting 44 idle
ive had 2 motherboard with this chip already
first was an Asus P5B which was horrible i couldnt overclock *** so ever
the stock cooler and infinity was both used with this board
now i use an Gigabyte P35C-DSR3 and this is when ive started using the arctic freezer 7 pro
ive seated it twice i use Arctic Silver 5 as i have with all my coolers my mate uses the exact paste exact cooler n gets 28 temps so what am i doing wrong?
he uses the Evga 680i however with a nice north bridge cooler, i gently touched mine n found it was running rather toasty though im guessing these all do....
its rather close to the cooler and am realy thinking this is the problem
i was going to go watercooling but dont have the funds sadly
so does anyone recommend any method? or do you think i just got a hot chip?
these temps are crazy for a core 2 dup im sure most of u will agree
EDIT:
here's a screenie, if anyoen see's anything out of the ordinary gime a shout please!
my cpu was in thingy mode so it slipped down to 1.6
im thinking it could be the case i use the Thermaltake Shark which is completely open on the side with a meshy thing instead of perspex could this be my problem?
i play a lot of CSS n played it in windowed mode saw the temps hit around 52 never went above that this was in a 20 man server with a bit of action (sound like jacob billing :/)
