Should I be turning my PSU off manually?

I usually shut down and then flick off the 4 gang socket at the wall, but should I be shutting down, then turning off the psu switch and THEN turning off at the wall?

I've had a few funny noises when turning on and off at the wall recently and I had to send the Titan Sabre back to OCuk as the PSU blew.

I have very rarely disconnected the power from any my computers, all of them are on APC UPSs and I would only disconnect the UPSs if there was thunder and lightening in the vicinity...

just turn off the power at the wall/surge protector after shutting down, no need to touch the PSU power switch unless you specificaly want to isolate it for whatever reason.

Oh right, thanks for clearing that up for me.

Plus it turns off all my stand-by lights and I don't like wasting electricity. Flipping the switch off at the wall is also faster than manually turning off my printer, speakers and monitor so laziness also plays a part!

Sames as Forde here. I turn my PC off normally & then turn the four plug points in my front room Off & I have 2 surge protectors in the ring as well. If I didn't my room would be lit with untold useless red & green lights.

:D

I switch mine off at the PSU, only cos of the standby lights, and that I'm a really fussy sleeper, so everything has to be pitch black

I use my extension lead for phone charger etc, so I can't really turn it off.
