Been with AMD for a long time but got a 980 the other day and i've been playing around with shadowplay and whatnot. I game at 1440p and i'm trying to find out if i should be enabling MFAA in the control panel or just stick with MSAA in-game.

Since i cant bare screen tearing and i'm not a competitive gamer i always have vsync on. Should i enable triple buffering or does it impact performance too much?

Anything else i should be aware of as an Nvidia noob?

Thanks.

I would set vsync to adaptive if I was one of those people who uses vsync. It turns it off if FPS drops below 60 so your framerate doesn't drop to 30.

I think MFAA is a more efficient antialiasing technique.

From memory afaik Mfaa provides the quality of 4xmsaa but with the hit of 2xmsaa but has to be properly supported by the game and driver

I have recently also switched from AMD to NVIDIA (980Ti <3) and been looking into similar settings

for MFAA I'd say yes! 2x better quality for same performance. Tripple buffing is also good, but I personally don't use vsync. Enjoy!
