Did my build yesterday and ran it at stock speed all night with no problems.

Switched on tonight and noticed in cpu-z that the cpu voltage keeps adjusting itself and cpu core speed keeps dropping from 3.3Ghz to 1.5Ghz

Its a core i5 with ASRock Z68 Extreme 4 Gen 3 motherboard

Nothing to be worried about - It's just AMD Cool'n'Quiet kicking in when the processor is not being fully used to lower power consumption and temperatures. You can disable this in your BIOS.

This is entirely normal, due to intel speedstep. This drops the clockspeed when the system is idle.

Is there a program I can run to test my system stability?

Will be venturing into the world of overclocking soon and I cant see it being easy to check the stability if the numbers keep changing :)

Prime95 will be able to stress test.
Then you can use HWmonitor or Coretemp to see your temperatures.

Your I5 is the 2500K model yes? The K is important if you wish to overclock.
