hello.
just now i have just tested my computer with prime95 to see what temps it would hit under full load

with HWmonitor open, i noticed that the "TMPIN2" hit 66c, is that normal ?
also TMPIN1 hit 62c .. ?

should i be worried at all ?

the board im using is a Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3 with a AMD Phenom ii 550 BE
not overclocked or unlocked, ujst completly stock.

would appriciate some info back please :

Thanks!

TMPIN1 is your CPU temperature.

63c is the maximum recommend for a Phenom II and under 55c is ideal so could do with a better cooler.

TMPIN2 is your northbridge and is fine, I've seen mine hit as high as 90c in the past so I wouldn't worry about that one.

Ok thank you :) i dont want cpu to melt down on me now do i :D

Iv got a new cpu cooler on order anyway. must have been fate!

It's nothing too serious but running it at those temps for prolonged periods can sometimes degrade the life of the chip.

Tmpin1 is cpu temp but when i was running prime95 coretemp said my cpu temp was 51c ?

If hwmonitor said it was 62c and coretemp says 51 which is correct ?

Hwmonitor

Phenom II chips don't have individual core temperature sensors so core temp a d realtemp read wrong.

ok, thank you, the new cpu cooler got put on today, did another test and it hit 71... settled at 65. is that ok or should i get a better one?

if so, can you recommend one .. but has to be low profile as i am limited for space as i have a ram cooler, i can just fit the stock cooler on, but if i get a low profile it will sit under the ram cooler.

thanks :D
