should I bother with a fan controller

Are fan controllers just PC accessories or are they worth investing in?

I have 6 fans inside my case (excluding 3 on gpu).
They are keeping good air flow moving all the heat off components and out the case. (as best as air cooling does).
Im thinking of buying a controller that will vary the speed of the fan depending on the temps.
Are these controllers basically gimmicks or are they good at controlling temps?

I would say gimmicks, as these type of controllers will also require the placing of temperature sensors in the case, which, lets face it, no one can be bothered to do!

I have one, but it is manual control, which does me! Keeps the noise down and consistent.
