Should I build a new VM machine?

I am going to build a new PC.
Is worth building a virtual machine instead of the standard windows build?

It would make life easier if I have to restore the VM from an image, but would I be wasting resources running windows on windows?

Entirely depends on what you want to use the computer for, if game then absolutely no point in using a VM.

Clone the PC, don't make it a VM. To be honest I'm not sure you really know what a VM is for..

Your idea will work, but it's not really practical to be honest. I do it with servers but for a PC you can take an image and restore it to new hardware with a high success rate.
