I have 2 20" monitors at the moment, both are widescreens. One is a phillips and the other is a Dell 2007WFP.

I was thinking of using a 2407 as a main monitor, removing the philips, and having the 20" dell for other stuff. I do creative work so would use the 20 for the photoshop palets and the like, but when I am gaming would use the 24".

Is the dell 24" the best bang for buck? I really want component in for the Wii or PS3 maybe?

it's a very popular and well established screen. excellent performance, i'd say you cant really go wrong with it tbh

I use to run my xbox360 by the component in and the picture quailty was pretty good...

It should be fine for your PS3...(i never owned a ps3 so i can't confirm)
but may not give a very good picture with the wii (as i myself don't find the dell built in scaler very good)

I have had my dell for about a year now and would have to say its the best upgrade I have ever bought. I went from a 17inch lcd to 24:) I currently have my 360 via vga and the image is crisp. I believe dell have since done an update on this monitor so hoepfully the new ones should be even better.

without doubt the dell 2407wpf is fantastic value, i'm always amazed how the 'wow' factor can't be captured in photos but only when its actually in front of you.
