I'll be wallmounting my 55" on the wall this weekend and this will now give me the space to put a desk below it as well as some mointors. I've always been after a triple monitor setup..

I've had a look at 144hz and I can safely say this will probably be the option for me. Whilst 4k is appealing, the horrible refresh rate would just make me

Could anyone kindly advise on a 144hz monitor that is standing out at the moment? Or do I wait until 4k is 120hz (whenever that may be?!)

If you're unsure, wait until COMPUTEX (from June the 1st). A huge amount of stuff will launch or be announced around then.

looks like i'll be waiting quite a while for 4k 120hz... and that's probably gonna need quite a lot in terms of power.

So, what would you say is the best monitor to go for? And is 24 still a suffice size model or do people go bigger now?

Do like the benq's they've always had good reviews but open to other options

I suspect you might find a triple monitor setup too large to productively use. I certainly did and much prefer my single 34" 21:9 1440p display.

I have just had a look at some measurements and I won't be able to go any bigger than 24"

Would you say the newest g-sync benq monitor is worth it with the 1ms?

Or do we have any other world class monitors around :P

I was myself in your shoes not too long ago, and having the funds to buy either a triple 144hz setup or a 29 inch 21:9, i chose my LG 21:9 29 inch over triple monitors... Non of my friends sees the 'bling' in the ultrawide, where as they would with triple, but in my opinion it is far better for my needs... As mentioned above, if you have the money, get the 34 inch version, i would have loved too but was an extra 200-300 so i didnt...
If i could go back, honestly i would have waited, looking at the games i play 99% of the time now, they arent demanding (CS:GO, WOW etc) where as i thought id be playing battlefield crysis etc.
If i could swap now, i would have gotten a second 290 or possibly just used my single, and went straight to 4k...
Maybe in a few years ;)

Would you advise buying 2 144hz monitors now and purchasing a 4k monitor later in the year? I would then put that central and have each 144hz monitor each side of the 4k monitor. Am I able to mix these up like this?

Or would it be best to save for a x99 system and then get 4k...

The thing is it's all about the experience, which means that no one can really answer you and you can't really tell without trying. You can order the monitors and then return them if you don't like how they are. Personally I like 4K >28'' best but I play FPS rarely (mostly casual CS:GO) and instead do more strategy games or rpgs.

I think that if you want to drop a lot of money on a new rig 2016 is the best year to do it since some really significant improvements are going to be available then, Intel Skylake/Cannonlake, AMD's Zen, Nvidia's Pascal, etc.

And probably we'll see the first >60hz 4K monitor too.
