Should I buy MW3??

£40 for what is basically an extension pack.

Don't get me wrong, I've owned all of the Call of Duty games so far, enjoying them on console and PC, but they're really starting to get boring and samey.

Zombies is really dull and boring too, Left 4 Dead 2 is far more fun and is a pure Zombie game and was a fiver a while back in the Steam sales.

IF I get it (and it's a big IF) it will be on xbox :)

I've got Football Manager 2012 to enjoy, the new Star Wars MMO and I still need to play Deus Ex properly, I want to reply Batman AA and replay again AC, and I want to give Battle Field 3 a go too.

Yes I have pretty much all the CODs on 360, it is getting boring. although the new features they add for MW3 seems fresh e.g the new killstreaks and the way they work. so worth considering.

Disagree. The stuff they have added (and taken away in some cases) is all stuff that you would get for free in TF2 or CSS or RO2 etc etc etc etc so where Activision get off asking £40 for it, I do not know.

It is a patch that fixes balance issues and comes with a map pack for £40.

It's basically a £40 expansion pack or big patch and some new maps. I'm very fast running out of time for the series.

Also, they're damaging the FPS genre in general. imho.

No you pay monthly for the "elite" thing which is like a version of bf3 battlelog afaik.

I believe its not needed to play online.

I completely agree with this.
Also they will probably release some sort of DLC a few months after to siphon more money from people :(.

Altho I also was thinking of getting MW3, maybe not on release but in future if/when it's cheaper.
Basically because there's no tanks and the scale of it is better for action in comparison to BF3.
I also doubt they will put in IRNV scopes which are a joke in BF3.

I'm just looking for a CS:S replacement tbh but nothing I've played touches on CS:S :(

MW3 at .... online for £27.99 with £2.50 worth of nectar points.

<snip> Not sure I'm allowed to link to other stores on these forums?

Promotion: Pre-order Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 and get: 20% off and 500 Bonus Nectar Points when quoting CODJSGA311002

The last COD game I played was COD2 (which was a superb game - still is!). I've never tried any of the newer versions in multiplayer so for me this should be worth the £25.50 I paid.

When I played it at Eurogamer, it just felt like I was playing MW2 again. If it wasn't for the fact that you had to queue up almost an hour to play it, I would have sworn it was MW2.

The only advantage to MW3 is the dedicated servers, but with so many games recently and soon to be released, this one is waaay down on my priority list.
