I7 930
gigabyte ex58 extreme
6gb mem

what i am thinking of....

I7 2600k 3.40mhz
Asus P8P67 Intel P67
G.Skill RipJawsX 8GB mem

i can sell my old gear, so money is ok, but is it worth the upgrade or should i wait a while longer???

If you are getting a good price for your current stuff then it's worth it, as it will be worth less when Ivy lands. Performance and overclockability goes to the i7 2600k but it's not a massive jump in performance from what you have now, but that does open up when overclocking though.

I can get £300 for my mobo, chip, heatsink, and memory...

ivy bridge will be a little bit expensive when it first comes out

In that case, you won't see any performance upgrade from upgrading your computer now, so don't.

Thank you, thats the type of answer i was after...

i have a EVGA gtx470 graphic card, and i have made the same sort of answer for exchanging that i was thinking of a ATI 6970 i know the 6970 is faster but it does not warrent £300 for it, so i am going to stick with all my gear
