Should I cancel my contract now to get a new phone or wait?

I've been wanting to move from T Mobile to 3 for a while, and my contract ends on 1st feb 2012.

I've just been thinking of canceling my contract now and paying off my last 3 months, and then moving onto the one plan.

The reason is I'm paying £29.35 pm for what is no longer a decent contract - I get Flext 35 (900 mins OR 1800 texts) and Web n Walk max (10 Gb internet pm), whereas on 3 I can get a free Samsung Galaxy S II for £35 pm on the one plan which is much better.

Are there any new phones coming out by february 2012 that I should wait for, or should I cancel my T mob contract early and move over to 3 now?

Don't the Flext contracts also include 0800/0845/0870 numbers?

I would never let go of that.

No they dont anymore. I get billed for those :(. I also have to renegotiate my 50% discount everytime I upgrade, without that its normally £60, and I cant be fussed when I can just get the one plan instead.

Or maybe they do, but I remember getting billed extra for calling some 08 customer services. Best thing to do would be to ask them when my contract runs out, and see what they offer when I say I'm canceling to move to 3.

You're better off waiting until the end of your contract since it's not that far away at all. By the time your contract ends the current deals will look rubbish.

I dont think the one plan is ever going to be bettered. But I would be best waiting till february as contract prices may come down a bit on the latest phones.

Wont the likes of Carphone Warehouse buy you out of your contract if you sign up to a new one through them? Could maybe try that?

Oh really? I only have 3 months left on my T mobile one.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus is £40 pm on the one plan (I only really wanted to go up to £35 pm), and the iPhone 4S is £35 pm with £99 up front.

Is the Galaxy Nexus definitely better? If I get it through Carphone Warehouse would it be cheaper and can I order online or with a phonecall along with them paying the rest of my cancellation?

Oooooohhhhh....

Well theres a Text 500 All-you-can-eat plan with all you can eat data too ...

£37 pm on the Galaxy Nexus, no charge. £38 pm on the iPhone4S with a £49.99 charge.

I never even use the minutes, so I want that one as its a bit cheaper, and the Galaxy Nexus costs less, and much closer to the £35 pm I wanted.

I think I want the all you can eat texter plan on the Nexus then, that looks like the cheapest option.

One Plan = £40 pm with £110 cashback = £850

Texter 500 = £37 pm with £67 cashback = £821...

For the sake of £29, I'll just take the one plan, which should have cheaper upgrades since its a bit more expensive.

I see, one plan = 'all you can eat DATA', Texter 500 = 'All you can eat' ... thats really tricky wording right there.

How does that cash back website work? By the time I reach the checkout through the cashback link, the URL doesnt have any extra info from the cash back store.

Hmmm, I just cleared all my cookies, but the links are still the same standard ones at the checkout.

Will I still get the cash back?

Oh, well I have a landline phone for those anyway, I only really want the unlimited data, and barely ever use my mobile for calls (never made more than 50 minutes of calls per month).

My Flext 35 has £180 credit which I never even use, all I use is the 10 Gb internet which I've exceeded several times.

Ok, I think I spammed the Nexus and Lumia threads enough now, but I will add the infos to this thread too :p

My Galaxy Nexus from 3 is going to be shipped today for delivery tomorrow:

£40 pm on the one plan, £116 cash back (effectively £35 pm with the cashback).
Total cost = £844

I also rang T Mobile, and they offered me:

FREE Nokia Lumia 800.
Removal of Internet (WnW max, 10 Gb pm) off my current tariff
Flext 35 (£180 monthly credit for calls + texts), 18 month contract with 50% discount.

Total cost = £315

My options are:

A) Keep both! But thats a whopping £1160 over the next 24 months :x (selling either phone or loads of old stuff can fund for this though).
B) Cancel the T Mob contract, lose 50% lifelong discount on any £35 pm tariff, and cheaper than sim free upgrades!
C) Cancel the One Plan order, and just keep Flext 35 + 10 Gb internet for £30 pm.

So should I do A, B, or C? Both offers are great and I want the all you can eat data more than anything else.
