hi guys,

as ive said in previous threads. ive recently purchased a primo iginition system

which came with the OCUK EZCool NA-705 Case

which is fine but as i would like to overclock my system a bit i need to add some fans and a much better cpu cooler. just looking at the room in the case, do you guys think i should stick with this case add the fans, with a few minor mods to improve the airflow and fit a better cpu or upgrade the case?

if you think upgrade the case do you have any recommendations?

thanks rob

What are you using it for?
Why do you need to boost the performance? (ie, it's too slow in some application, i have too much money, etc)
What is the spec? (the page you linked doesn't have specifics on the motherboard or graphics).

The way I see it, the sensible processor upgrade is to the i5 760, but it doesn't have onboard graphics like the i3s and (some) other i5s - if you've got a graphics card, fine.
If you're using the onboard, you'd have to buy a card (in which case, the 760 might not be sensible after all).

If you do go for overclocking, a new case would probably be a good idea. Budget would be helpful.

Ok ill try to be a bit more precise.

System Specification
- Case: OcUK EZCool NA-705 microATX Case
- Power Supply: OcUK 500W PSU
- CPU: Intel Core i3 550 3.20GHz (Clarkdale)
- Motherboard: Intel H55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 microATX Motherboard
- Cooler: Intel Approved Cooler
- RAM: 4GB DDR3 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
- Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB SATA 6GB/s
- Graphics Card: Onboard Intel GMA graphics or a choice of energy efficient graphics cards
- Sound: High Definition 7.1 Onboard Sound Card
- Optical Drive: LG GH22NS50 22x DVD+RW SATA ReWriter

I also have the following graphics card.

OcUK GeForce GTS 450 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

The main reason I was looking to overclock was to improve the performance as I would like to play games on my system. I currently play WOW but would like to try battelfield etc on a comp as I love them on the xbox.

I was going to fit 3/4 fans in my current case. A front a rear and 2 side fans plus an upgraded cpu cooler. But looking at what I wanted to do I wondered if a case upgrade would be benifical. Plus a better psu but that's for another thread.

here is a link to the motherboard that i currently have.

Hope that's a better explanation.

thanks rob
