Om trying to fix a fault with outlast trials, fatal error, read on a forum disabling c states helps n fixed it for one person. Anyhoo ive got 2 options, c state and enhanced. Ive just disabled c state but stopped short with enhanced bcus of a scary warning by the bios. I just see on another forum someone mentioned to enable c states but disable enhanced. Please if anyone has any help I would really appreciate it

Thankyou

You should not need to disable C-States, because ultimately if it fixes the issue your CPU / motherboard are not fully stable at low load.

That said, as a troubleshooting step, there's nothing to be worried about. It won't do any harm.

ok well it seems to have fixed the issue, no crash in my first game, so ill test more but your saying itll be fine for me to disable both? enhanced also? Thankyou Tetras for posting!!

Generally: yes, there's no harm in it. But, be aware it can impact (increase) power consumption of the CPU in idle/light load.

Can you tell us your motherboard please? I don't know what "enhanced" means without reading the manual.

My guess is that it means the CPU is allowed to reach deeper sleep states, which is why it had a warning (because that can cause issues with some systems and power supplies).

If its faulty why are you trying to do everything to "fix" it rather than doing an RMA?

For the amount they cost I would be sending it back for a replacement
