Hi OcUK,

I recently bought some Puig frame sliders for my Kawasaki ER-6F. The plan was to fit them myself but this sentence in the instructions has put me off a little.

"Remove the fasteners that subject the chassis to the engine"

That's not the kind of thing I want to screw up. Money isn't the reason I was going to fit them, I just like tinkering with things and am (for the most part) competent doing so.

I have no experience working on motorcycles and was wondering if this is the sort of things that one can do at home or the sort of thing that only a professional should do.

PDF Instructions: http://www.puig.tv/descargas/PUIG18875.pdf

Any advice/lessons from personal experiences would be appreciated.

Yeah do them yourself, very easy.

Fitted some sliders to mine last week at work, took me less than 5 minutes for both sides. You only need one allen key.

you'll be ok as the other engine bolts will hold everythin in place, just fit one side at a time

the engine aint gonna fall out

as said do one side at a time and you will be fine.
I added crash bars to mt ZR7 and I had to replace the front engine bolts with the longer ones that came with the crash bars, one of the easiest jobs I have done and in no way would I pay for a shop to do it as its a waste of money.
