I’m paranoid about my PC, I’m sure its running slower than it should. This I believe is down to it being time for another format, last time was 6 months ago. Is there anything I can go to see if formatting will speed up my PC.

It’s regularly maintain in terms of formatting, minimal background programmes running and very few malware/spyware being present.

But a nice format and reinstall of an O/S clears out spots that get cluttered.
I want everything tiptop in time for Crysis so my hardware can give it everything it's got.
What do you think, bit random I know, how often to you format to keep speeds up?

Through the normal course of events I usually end up doing a fresh installation every 6-9 months, though this is certainly atypical. Some people use the same installation for years without issue.

Back up software.

For example Acornis have just released V11 which means you can get v10 for less than £15.

Create incremental Images as you install the OS and further Images periodically thereafter and restore whichever Image suits your needs at any particular time.
