I have a 22" Samsung monitor but I want to upgrade to 24". I was looking at the BenQ G2420HDBL 24" which has very good reviews and I like the sound of LED backlit for extra brightness. Now I don't really need HDMI at the moment so don't really need to consider the BenQ EW2420 24" I don't think as you can use an adaptor for the other monitor anyway? But now I've seen the Benq XL2410T 24" TRUE 120Hz monitor and it looks very tempting as it has LED backlit, 120Hz and 3d gaming. Would it be better to go future proof or just get the first one I suggested? When will 120Hz become mainstream and will they get lower in price in a few years then I could get one or..?

Hi mufc802, I'm looking into possibly buying a 24" monitor soon. Could I ask is there any reason why you are thinking of switching to the BenQ G2420HDBL instead of getting a 24" Samsung (e.g. the B2430H)?

Ignoring stereo 3D... the only reason really to get a 120Hz panel is if your a hardcore fps player (or another game thats very reaction intensive and very fast paced) - for general desktop useage and slower paced games i.e. mmos your better off getting a decent sized IPS panel - the best you can afford.

@ Jaffar, I already have a Samsung and I don't like the flimsy stand it's on and I wanted a monitor which is brighter so the LED backlit monitors by BenQ are tempting. It also has very good reviews on it.

@ Rroff, I do play FPS so it could be beneficial to get 120Hz I just don't know if it's worth it or not. I don't have a big budget but I don't want to get a monitor which will suddenly be outdated by 120Hz monitors becoming mainstream which is why I was considering that one.

I've used both the BenQ XL2410T and the LG 120hz monitor and the LG produces much better colours IMO however I did not set the BenQ up myself where as I did with the LG.
