I'm nearly ready to purchase everything for a new system and am wondering whether or not to get a gpu. I will be going for:

Asus p8z68 LX, intel 2500k, 8gb corsair vengeance

PC will be used for office work, browsing, emails, photoshop, etc but I have two 20" monitors. Should I go for a gfx card as well or just use the 2500k's onboard graphics (the p8z68 has a dvi and a VGA port)?

Use the IGP. Don't see much need for you to get a graphics card although a very basic cheap one may help reduce the load on the CPU.

Id say stick with the ON board one for now and see how she handles. You can always buy later if needed. Better to test without than waste money on what might not be needed.

Is that Asus P8Z68-V LX?
If so it does have the DVI, HDMI and D-SUB for monitor(s).

i5 2500K's iGPU is enough to run the above tasks on that monitor :)
However newer nVidia GPUs have an advantage with cuda and can be used to accelerate Photoshop(some versions)

Yep, the p8z68-v LX. Might consider getting the pro gen3 but I'm not sure that is necessary.

Thanks, will stick with onboard for now then maybe get s cheap card later if required
