My daughter is four in August and she's already quite good with a mouse on the cbeebies website and she can use a stylus on my PDA to tap away on sudoku (not playing it just changing the squares to a different colour when you put the wrong number in the box). So I was wandering at what age would a DS be suitable for her? are there games out now which are really good for little ones or should I wait a few years?

yeh they are great and surely it will only help her develop even if you have to play with her

My 8yr old got her DS when she was 7 and loves it!

I think it might be just out of her league by a year or so, but maybe try her on something like cooking mama, my daughter loves it!

My brother started gaming when he was 6 i started him off on mario sunshine and now hes 9 hes brilliant at css and is already using words like lmfao and noob :p

Anyway games that your daughter must play on the DS are:
New Super Mario Bros
Mario 64 DS
Super Mario Kart DS

Mario games are great for kids aswell as adults and when shes ready for it move her onto css to face my brother ;) :)

yes get one but the games are expensive
The games are only expensive if you walk into a high street shop and buy them, but who does that thesedays?

OT but is it really a good thing that a nine year old's saying that?

@Ross - congratulations :rolleyes:

Back on topic, get a DS - if she doesn't like it you can use it!
I wouldn't use it though - not my cup of tea, although the wife might if I can drag her away from her knitting.
