Should I get a Ps4...

Usually when I'm in two minds about something I don't do it... Simply because I shouldn't have to think about it. I'm looking at getting a ps4 but I have a decent enough gaming pc. I can play the latest games I high to highest without a hiccup and I love steam but there's something I miss about console gaming I can't quite put my finger on. I guess it's the pick up put down factor when it's in my living room as opposed to my pc room

So.... What would you do? Get a ps4 or not... Bother as a lot of the titles are on pc.

I've found a deal with far cry 4 and 12 months ps plus for 350 if it's helps.

Attach said PC to living room TV, attach a decent controller (Xbox 360 wired), play FarCry 4 at 1080p high-highest setting. If you enjoyed it and want to play more PS 4 exclusives, then get it.

Otherwise, I'd save the money and stick to PC if that satisfy what you need.

Plus, Steam Sales soon...

Plugging my pc into my TV isn't really an option.... I'm married. I did try steam in home streaming onto my laptop, then into my TV but it's a hassle and seemed laggy and the sharpness wasn't there. If only they did little wireless boxes that worked well...

I think I'll take the jump with the ps4. It's 350 with 12 months ps plus and far cry 4,its not going to depreciate that much so I could sell it if it doesn't work out.

I know what you mean about that pick up and play factor. I've had a PS4. I got one last Christmas. I played AssCreed Black Flag and it just seemed a little sluggish, so I picked the same game up on PC (from the Members Market) and it was then that I realised I'll never have a need for the PS4.

As for living room gaming. I installed a cheap CAT5 cable and can play every steam game I own perfectly on my old Core 2 Duo. It's no different to sitting at the PC. In fact I'm stunned how well it works at 1080p.

Having said that there is one area where I lose out, where the PS4/Xbox has the advantage and that is Multiplayer Shooters. Playing those particular PC games on a controller will be painful. I don't play those type of games that often, but is one area where I would need keyboard & mouse.

What have you got to lose. You can always sell it on at a decent price if you decide it's not for you. I did.

Hi Omno, id get 1. Im a bit like you married wife kids etc, she doesnt like wires you get the pictiure.

I have a basement in there are 2 gaming Rigs my 50 inch TV and all the consoles PS4 XBONE and the rest, however in the main room i have the ps3, for what its worth the PS3 on Playstation Plus is a massive plus, ive got a 1TB drive shoved in and evey game on PSN plus since last year are on there.

Same for PS4 its crammed full all be it arcadey type games as not much out but its growing.

I use the PS4 more than the XBONE, and ps4 games are my first choice if they come on both platforms.

Dragon Age is out today or tomorrow cant emember that looks amazing, howevere ill be buried deep in World of Warcraft as from tomorrow... waiting for the destiny patch for the ps4

If you want to play any of the exclusive PS4 games then yes, get one.

If you don't want to play any of the exclusive PS4 games then no, don't get one.

:D

I can't believe the new consoles have been out about a year and I still haven't got one. I keep thinking about a PS4 but like you if I'm in two minds I don't bother. There's still very little I actually want to play were as with the 360 there was game after game from launch I wanted.

no

I've hardly used my ps4. wait for more true next gen games to be available -> unchartered, order 1886, last of us "2" etc...

I agree. Not enough games out on either console to be honest.

I tried to wait but gave in last month :( and got the PS4. The are only a handful of games worth getting.

This, all day.
At this moment in time theres just not many exclusives to choose from for either 'next gen' console. If you have a decent pc and an existing 360 or ps3, stick with those and pick up the multi platform games for one of them instead.

If youre minted then get the console with the games that appeal to you.

There are loads of games for both consoles, I really don't know how people can say otherwise.

I'm the opposite. I'm on my PS4 every night. Apart from the annual summer games drought I've always had something to play.

imo there aren't enough exclusives on it to make a purchase worthwhile atm. My ps4 hasn't seen a great deal of use for months now, although I did enjoy destiny for a while back when it first came out. Depends on your taste in games I suppose and whether you have the money to spare.
