hey all, crysis looks good and I plan to buy it Should I get it tomorrow or should i wait until I have a 9800gts (or whatever it is) in Q1 2008 which i plan to buy upon release, my current spec is in sig.

Id buy COD4 for now, you'll have great fun playing that.

When the new hardware comes out and you upgrade, then buy crysis. You will probably enjoy it more when you can actually turn the graphics up without experiancing chug.
 
My copy has been dispatched today and ill be playing through it. When i get my new GPU when i get paid ill probably play through again if its good.
 
On an X1800XT I wouldn't bother. You won't be able to run it on decent graphical settings which is a big part of what this game is about.
 
OP after playing the demo i'd have to say, get a new graphics card and you'll be able to enjoy this game immensely. I was playing it on some medium, some high options and it looks wonderful at 1280x960 and plays fine too (on a X1950pro). I'll be buying it as soon as i have some more money, as well as COD4. Loved that too!
 
k just read the crysis review in PCZ

Am i losing my marbles? I swear one of those screenshots looks like it has been taken from Far Cry. I'll need to dig out an old PCZ to check.

But tbh that comparison they made is enough to put it off my shopping list. Farcry was good but i dont need a Farcry clone with nicer graphics.
 
If the Samsung is like my Dell24" it scales well, just play at a lower res but still widescreen.

It isn't just about the graphics, the game looks great. You can always replay it on hard when you get a new card and at full graphics.
