Should I get one of these?

Agree, if it just spins in a circle, you'll get marks.. Dual action all the way...I've got a Meguaires..expensive, but then so is the car

Thanks for the input. Any recommendations on a battery operated DA polisher as I don’t have access to power in the car park it’s parked in.

A lot comes down to cost and whether you have any power tools at mo...ie, I've only used my meguaires after friend loaned me his and recommended it, so I can't recommend, but if I was going cordless, I'd get dewalt as below, as already have charger and multiple batteries...if I didn't already have that though, I wouldn't as price would be high....(it's still high, and that's barebone without batteries, but would just fit in with rest of my stuff)...sorry, not much help

No, garbage. It won't do what you want and it'll be in landfill very quickly.

I don't think you apply wax with a polisher but I'm happy to be schooled - maybe post in the car cleaning thread?

Why go to the expense of rechargeable, its not something you will need every week?

As I mentioned before I have to pay extra for battery operated as there is no electricity in my underground car park. If there was I could get something cheaper.

Just want something to help me wax my car instead of doing it by hand, don’t mind paying for quality equipment.

That Worx buffer you want will remove the wax quicker no problem. Not sure if it will help putting wax on.
Those DA polishers are for removing layers of paint to remove swirl marks and light scratches.
You need a lot of practice and time to achieve good results otherwise you can damage the paint work.

Silverblack correct...it takes a long time to go around the car with the DA polisher...if my car is clean, I generally apply wax by hand, it's a lot faster. I use the mequiars when the cars been slightly scratched, or last time, when dealership gave it a clean and it came back covered in swirl micro scratches...then you go through the stages...compound, polish...waxing, I just use the autoglym stuff I got with a car, and sometimes the liquid wax, but as said, do that by hand.
As said, I only said dewalt as already have 3 power tools etc so I would need body only....i'm not recommending it
Have no idea how long it would last, but I used to own a car jumper kit which had 3 pin socket on it...seen you can get them £45-£60...don't have mine anymore but they contain a car battery which you just keep on a charge at home..that might be enough to run a polisher for a bit, then you can choose any polisher etc..maybe worth giving halfords a ring..'some' of them know what they're talking about..then you could try a cheap £35 orbital polisher(as long as you keep moving it to do the daul action part) and see if it's good enough for your needs

Money isn’t an object. It comes down to whether it’s worthwhile buying one to primarily help me wax the car and if it’s easier to do so by hand then I guess it’s not worth getting.
