Hey all,

Pretty much settled on my over the top new PC build. My final decision is on the processor.

I know the 3930K is expensive, but it is faster and 6 cores. Am I just being dumb and should I be holding out for the 3770K?

Also, is there much advantage to being on LGA2011 over 1155 as I can assume IB-E is the only other chip that will use LGA2011.

Cheers

it all depends on what the pc will be used for. the 1155 is good enough for gaming and most other casual editing/manipulation/rendering. but for a business or such, then maybe a 2011 would be better.

Stick with a 25/26/2700K.

Unless you are doing a LOT of work that will really use the cores, they you're just throwing money away for the kudos of having a X79 setup.

Cheers guys. And the still the 2600/2700K over the 3770K? (If I can wait that long!)

until the 3770k is out then hard to say. personally, hang fire until its out and then see what happens pricing wise.
but there is very little the 25/26/2700k wont do.
